This is a question l like to ask to vegans? Do you not eat eggs because you do not wanna support the factory that slaughter the hens after they can not lay anymore eggs? Or that you do not like the way they treat the chickens in the farm. Or do you sincerely believe that eggs are just unborn chickens and that you are still killing another living thing?

This is a serious question, so l hope l will get some serious .

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

I will consider it as a source of protein. Not all egg are been fertilize. Therefore, not all egg are unborn chicken. The egg you brought from the supermarket have been check (whether it have or have not been fertilize) before packaging.

They are unfertilized eggs. Personally, I do not cook or eat eggs because they are sticky and messy. I use the ''fake eggs'' at the grocery store.

I hate this question, because it is so frequently asked to vegetarians and vegans.
Vegans do not eat any animal products. Period.
I am vegetarian, and often people tell me that by eating egg, I eat chicken.
I like to explain it this way:
As a female I have eggs, if someones sperm reaches my egg, I have a baby.
If no sperm touches my egg, I still drop them every month.
In other words, I am a chicken.
Would you like some eggs?

first of all i think u r refering to vegetarians. vegans do not eat any animal products. some even go so far not to eat honey or bee pollen. i am not a veg or vegan, but the feeling i get from most people is that it is a sympathy as well as a health issue. for vegetarians that eat eggs, i think that most do not want to eat fertilized eggs (you can tell this by a dark spot on the yolk) for the sympathy reason. i think some do eat eggs because there r so many stories of vegans entering poor health as a result from lack of animal products. but really, if people want to do it for pc reasons, they need to seek out local farmers' markets & stop going to safeway. the best & most nutritious eggs r those from pasture raised hens. buying from farmers also supports community.

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

I do not worry so much about them being unborn chickens, but I am concerned about what the chickens go through in order to produce those eggs. Egg-laying hens go through as much pain and torture, or more, as animals killed for their meat do.

Not unborn unless fertilized. Unfertilized wo not produce a chicken. They do it for all the reasons you mentioned though!

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

It is both. A perfect protein that just happens to be a pre-animal.

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

Hens release eggs on an almost daily cycle (the same way human women release an egg every month) regardless of whether or not roosters r present or eggs r fertilized. Most factory-farmed eggs r not fertilized because it does not make sense on that large-scale to have roosters present. Eating an unfertilized egg would be the same as eating a feather that fell off a chicken. However, the difference is that chickens have a fertile period of their life & at most farms once they stop laying eggs they r culled. Vegans probably object to that treatment of the hens that cuts short their natural life.

They ar only undborn chickens if the eggs have been fertilized. The eggs that everyone buys at your local grocery store are not ferilized, so they are just a good source of protein.

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

i thought they were unborn chickens but hey im not no cook

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

The eggs are unfertilized, thus not unborn chickens. Vegans do not eat eggs because of the inhumane way the hens are treated in intensive farms.

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

vegans do not eat eggs because they are something which has come from the chicken. This is also why vegans do not drink milk- because it is something which is a product from cows. Most to all vegans also will not wear wool or leather.

I find veganism a bit extreme. the cow has to be milked or she will be uncomfortable. It is a way of life for her. Why not drink her milk?

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

i'm not a vegan, but i think that eggs are unborn chickens that just happen to be an excellent source of protein, and other vitamins.

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

are not they unfertilised so technically they are not an unborn chick

Eggs, are they unborn chickens or a good source of protein

Both are true. Just depends on what a person believes.
